The gala evening was held at Club Forster in the presence of Club Forster president, Claire Fletcher, and assistant general manager, Darren Pettet.
Excellent music was provided by Barry Noble and the fast dance floor was appreciated by all dancers.
Over the years, Club Forster's manager Peter Clark, along with the board members and staff, have provided ongoing support and encouragement to the Forster Social Dance Club.
A celebratory cake was enjoyed by the 86 people in attendance, many of whom had travelled from as far as Wollongong and Port Macquarie.
25 years ago, Mark Craythorn, and shortly after, Paul Tanti, began what was to grow into the Forster Social Dance Club.
Over the years, many people assisted - forming a committee, acquiring prizes and selling raffle tickets to help finance the club.
Paul has been the club's president for years and Mark continues to teach, arrange music and dance.
Their years of selfless volunteer service have seen the dance club continue to grow, appreciated by the community every Tuesday evening where an hour-long dance lesson precedes two hours of social dancing, starting at 6.30pm in the Galaxy Room at Club Forster.
A formal 'Christmas in July' gala Ball is the signature annual event and not to be missed are the monthly social dances on the last Friday of each month.
For any enquiries, please contact Paul Tanti on 0431 007 693 or Bev Spanopulas on 6555 5455.
Everybody is welcome to enjoy the conviviality of lovely music, friendly people and fun exercise.
