The petition, collected by the No MidCoast Council Move to Masters group, calls for a moratorium and a Parliamentary inquiry into all aspects of the project.
Petition co-ordinator Katrina Pearson and MidCoast Council councillor Jan McWilliams presented the petition to Myall Lakes MP Stephen Bromhead at Parliament House.
They said Mr Bromhead formally lodged the petition the following day and discussion on the petition was listed to be held in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, August 8.
Ms Pearson said the signatures were collected in 21 days outside pre-poll voting centres for the recent Federal election.
