School is less than a month into second term, but already the students at Bulahdelah Central have achieved some impressive accomplishments in their first weeks back.

Year 10 student Blake Richardson took part in the Young Endeavour Youth Scheme at the end of the holidays, sailing for ten days from Newcastle to Brisbane.
Over the course of the voyage he engaged in teamwork, responsibility and friendship, and acquired many new skills.
Upon disembarking the ship he was awarded the Young Endeavour Award.
On Monday, May 6, Year 5 and 6 classes attended the Science and Engineering Challenge at Taree Racecourse.
The group performed well and came away with third place on the day.
Hospitality students Heidi Buchanan, Tahlia Mancini and Flynn Weiley took out the prestigious Tocal Bake or Burn at Tocal Agricultural College.
"The judges were particularly impressed with the strength of the Bulahdelah team in terms of their knife skills, use of local ingredients and ability to create wonderful, fresh flavours," hospitality teacher Elizabeth Smith said.
"They displayed outstanding teamwork under stressful completion conditions. Their delightful personalities shone through with their smiles and interactions with the judges and audience."
The first of the Year 7 showcase lessons was a success.
The event was a collaboration between the students' year adviser and their middle school teachers.
The venue of the Student Support Centre proved to be an adequate and intimate setting for students to showcase a few of their achievements from their first term of high school at BCS.
The performances that were showcased were from the 'The Addams Family' musical by the Year 7 dance troupe, which included Elle Newlin, Kaitlyn Smith, Mia McDonald, Taylah Krohn, Sasha Middleton and Daisy Wilton, who performed 'Thriller' much to the crowd's delight.
Band members Elise Miles, Larissa Dawes, Tiras Lamborn, Matilda Matheson and Rahnee Cole shared a selection of music they played at the Bulahdelah community Anzac Day memorial march.
Outstanding assessment tasks were also presented in PowerPoint and poster form.
On Wednesday, May 8, Bulahdelah Central School captains, Liam Garemyn and Ashleigh Dorney, received an award from the MidCoast Council in recognition of their outstanding leadership skills.
They were presented with their plaques by mayor David West.
The BCS Whole School Athletics Carnival was held on Friday, May 10.
This was the first whole school combined athletics carnival in years.
