Hosted by the Lower North Coast District and played at Taree Leagues Bowling Club in ideal conditions, the encounter was not so much a gruelling affair rather than one of tactical manoeuvring, with each player trying to play to their strengths and endeavouring to expose any weaknesses their opponent may have had on the day.
But it was Sarah, calling on her National and State experience, who showed no signs of weakness, giving her determined opponent no chance in a game that saw the 26-year-old claim a decisive 25-13 victory.
"Judy, who I've played against and with on a number of occasions, always puts in a good performance," Sarah said after the game.
"I therefore knew I had to get away to a good start and then not go to sleep at any stage of the game. Thankfully I was able to keep my concentration levels high right through to the finish, something I have been working on with my coach this year."
Judy Brady said after the game she was proud to have represented her district (Hastings Haven) in the prestigious event and was more than happy with her game.
"I knew it was going to be tough and I played as well as I could but, simply, Sarah was just too good," she said.
Sarah now heads off to Tamworth in September where she will be pitted against the 15 other regional singles champions from around the State.
She will not be overawed with the task ahead as the diminutive TAFE student has not only contested these finals many times before but also seen herself return home a victor on two previous occasions.
"All I can do is be well prepared both physically and mentally and give it my best shot," she said.
