By all accounts it was a great outing for blokes and sheilas alike, but the female attendants at Forster Tuncurry Jockey Club's Ladies Day certainly turned out in style on Saturday, May 18 to enjoy a fine day of fun, fashion and racing.

"The ladies enjoyed it, the weather was good, the racing was great and so was the track," club president Gary McQuillan said.
With a number of treats on offer for the ladies, including a free glass of champagne for all, a bag of Priceline goodies for the first 100 women through the door, a trip for two to Mudgee compliments of Oatley Wines, and gift vouchers from both Stocklands and Occasion Jewellers, plenty of attendants went home pleased with more than just the performances of their runners.
Mr McQuillan estimated well over 1,000 people poured through the gates on the day and said the newly-installed permanent gazebos were well-received by the crowd.
The club's next meet will see them host their biggest day of the year, the XXXX Gold Cup and the Running of the Pearl, which will take place on Friday, September 13.
