Emergency crews were called to the two-vehicle crash at Allworth on Friday night, where they found three people trapped.
The SES crew, along with Dungog Fire and Rescue NSW responders, removed the people from the vehicles, so they could be taken to hospital.
Police, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, paramedics, SES and Fire and Rescue NSW all responded to the incident.
It came after the Port Stephens SES's General Land Rescue Unit was called to a Hinton property to help George - an 800kg pet bull - who was unable to bring himself to his feet.
The crew used a special harness and rig to lift George into a comfortable position while he recovers.
