For many businesses, understanding where to start, identifying relevant and realistic opportunities, and completing the documentation can be daunting, Ms Brennan said.

"The workshops will support local businesses in improving their capacity to supply goods and services for the many and varied projects we put out to market each year, and they'll provide important insights into our procurement processes and policy.
"We appreciate the process is specific and can sometimes seem quite complex, so in our first workshop attendees will come away with the knowledge and confidence to put their businesses forward as a prospective supplier."
The first workshop will focus on opportunities to do business with council, developing relationships and effective communication, how to read quotation and tender documentation, establishing and communicating selling proposition and how to write effectively when responding to a request for quotation or tender.
Follow-up workshops will take place later this year.
"Business-owners are encouraged to reserve their place quickly to avoid disappointment," Ms Brennan said.
