The committees will provide assistance and support in the areas of economic development, tourism, wellbeing, heritage, and sport and recreation.
They are made up of both council representatives and members of the public and are guided by their own terms of reference.
The Economic Development Working Group will provide specialist advice to council about the growth and development of the local economy and employment opportunities in the area.
The Barrington Coast Destination Management Reference Group will provide guidance and support to ensure the outcomes detailed in the MidCoast Destination Management Plan are successfully realised.
The Community Inclusion and Wellbeing Reference Group will be engaged in helping council make the region an accessible, inclusive and cohesive community.
The Heritage Reference Group will assist in protecting and promoting the area's local heritage.
The Sport and Recreation Reference Group will help council plan, develop and deliver sport and recreational services in the local area.
The reference groups were established after members of the public were invited to nominate for the committee of their choice late last year.
"Committees are an important part of our operations, and a great way for us to tap into the experiences and expertise of local residents and business-owners," MidCoast Council mayor David West said.
"We were pleased with the level of interest during the nomination phase, with a fantastic response received for each reference group."
The members of the new committees will get together in the coming weeks to establish a meeting schedule and begin inductions.
