The walk, from 11am on April 14, is one of hundreds being held throughout the State urging all Australians to support refugees and show compassion to those in need.
Palm Sunday is an appropriate day to consider the persecuted within our society, co-ordinator, Margaret Gardner said.
As with previous years the rally will begin at Foster ocean baths, walking around Main Beach and across the bridge to John Wright Park in Tuncurry.
Except for the tolling of a bell every five minutes, walkers will participate in a circle of silence before the names of men who have died in detention are read out
RAR is extending an invitation to all members of the community to join them in this walk, which has been strongly supported by residents in previous years.
