It is open to members of the public who would like to challenge themselves in the iconic Dorsal Hotel Club 2 Club 3.8 kilometre swim from Cape Hawke SLSC around to Forster SLSC.

The swim assists both clubs maintain vital lifesaving equipment.

Major sponsor, Dorsal Boutique Hotel's John Koorey is looking forward to another swim.

"It is a great swim and a good challenge with some fantastic viewing points along the way and supporters can walk or swim along One Mile Beach and then along the headland paths back to Main Beach," he said.

If that swim is a bit far then how about the Tuncurry Physiotherapy 250 metre or the Professionals Forster Tuncurry 500 metre swim held at Main Beach earlier in the morning.

Organisers say these two swims are great opportunities for mums and dads to swim with their children or those new to ocean swimming to try out a smaller distance swim.

For entries visit the Ocean Swims website, register at the Forster Surf Club on Main Beach from 8-9am on Saturday, April 13.

The swim times are 8am for the 500 metre swim followed at  9.30am for the 250 metre event, while the big swim begins at 9.15am.

All swimmers need to attend Main Beach to register and collect their swim cap. A bus will be  available to transport swimmers to the start line at Cape Hawke

Swimmers are more than welcome to wear wetsuits or use flippers if needed however they are not eligible for prizes
