Take a packet of tissues with you to this latest release. A Dog's Way Home is definitely one of those tug on the heart strings type of films.

Man (Lucas) get puppy (Bella), puppy loyal to man, man and mother have to move house so dog goes to friend's place, dog gets lonely and decides to find man.
Bella travels 400 miles in the Colorado wilderness. Along the way of course there are many encounters where dog does heroic deeds, makes others who take him in better for doing so, and has several brushes with death.
Not sure I am fond of the female voiceover for Bella (Bryce Dallas Howard), but there are some Hollywood favourites with Ashley Judd as Lucas' mother, and Edward James Olmos, and Jonah Hauer-King is likable as Lucas. The real stars are obviously the pit bull terriers that play Bella, which are apparently illegal in Denver, Colorado. You know what they say, never work with children or animals.
