Under 15 years competitor Amber Kelleher put the big swells behind her to pick up all of Taree Old Bar’s 23 points.
Other key performers from the day included Cape Hawke SLSC’s Claire Van Kampen and Adam Mulligan, Black Head SLSC’s Julian Boag and Amanda Williams from Forster SLSC.
The preliminary point score was: Black Head SLSC 362, Cape Hawke SLSC 335, Forster SLSC 83 and Taree Old Bar SLSC 23.
The final results won’t be known until the board riding section is complete.
The Lower North Coast branch took the opportunity to recognise the top achievers from 2018.
From a strong field of competitors, Black Head SLSC’s Brady Cross and Forster SLSC’s Olivia Williams were named joint Junior Lifesaver of the Year.
Lifesaving official Malcolm Flew was presented a certificate to recognise his 25 years of volunteer work.
