Eleanor has been endorsed as the Greens’ candidate for the seat of Myall Lakes in the NSW election scheduled for March 23.
Eleanor, who is a registered nurse at Manning Hospital, says she came to live in the Manning Valley back in 1981 to train as a nurse and to “escape the city".
She says she loves living on the Mid North Coast, has come to regard herself as a local and is passionate about caring for and preserving the region's natural environment.
"I'm also committed to ensuring everyone in our community has access to quality public health services and public education,” Eleanor said.
"I joined the Greens in 2003 because I felt that the Greens' policies were a good match for what I considered most important, which is protecting our environment and ensuring social justice," she said.
I really appreciate being a member of a party that isn't influenced by large, profit-driven corporations.

"I really appreciate being a member of a party that isn't influenced by large, profit-driven corporations.
“The Greens don't accept donations from companies and this means we can make policy decisions that are in the best interests of the community and not based on any back-room deals with big donors."
Her concerns about climate change was the tipping point when considering running for State parliament.
"For a long time, I've been dissatisfied with the level of response in Australia to the reality of climate change,” she said.
“We need to do so much more for the sake of future generations and for all species on the planet, and there’s a lot we can do locally as well as at state and national level to help stabilise our climate.”
Eleanor is urging all Myall Lakes residents to enrol to vote before the deadline of March 4.
“You don’t have a say if you’re not enrolled to vote and with so many critical issues for this coming election, it’s important that everyone who is eligible to vote is enrolled.”
You can enrol online at the Australian Electoral Commission.
