The rugby dressing room scents of sweat and liniment have lured former Mid North Coast representative winger, Jesse Logan, back to the game and he will play again for the Forster Tuncurry Dolphins in the Crescent Head Sevens carnival on February 2.

A double knee ligament injury after an outstanding NSW Country Championship carnival in Armidale in 2016 led to Logan requiring time off work, and eventually a conversation with his boss.
“It’s your decision – do you want to keep your job and make money or do you want to continue your hobby and play rugby?” was the declaration to Logan.
Logan said: “I’d had an accumulation of injuries and my knee problem capped it all off so I decided to take the year off to mend.
“I’ve had a good break and am fit again and looking forward to running with the lads at Crescent Head next month.”

Logan, 27, grandson of the legendary Gordon club halfback in Sydney and Wallaby representative, Don Logan, left Sydney for the Great Lakes for employment as a boilermaker with Dorvik Steel where a fellow worker was the ex-NSW Country lock, Shane Dean.
It was Dean who suggested Logan join the Dolphins and he came into first grade during the club’s four-season sequence of Lower MNC premierships under coach Ron McCarthy from 2013-2016.
Blessed with family speed, a winger’s eye for the try-line and a strong defender, Logan won a position in coach Andrew Cable’s MNC Zone squad for the Country Championships in Armidale in 2016 in which he proved a resounding success, starting in the Axemen’s every game.
Logan and the Dolphins will resume training at their Tuncurry headquarters of Peter Barclay Field this Wednesday evening, January 16 at 5.45 p.m.
One player coach McCarthy is especially interested to hear news about is the rangy line-out forward, Jack Woods, one of the club’s finest ball-winning players of the last decade, but now based through electrical employment in Port Macquarie.
The Dolphinettes, Forster’s women’s team, have increased their training tempo and will train two nights a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm for this week at least again where they experienced the rigour of the massive sand hill at the northern end of One Mile Beach.
The Dolphinettes have the nucleus of a good team with last season’s best-and-fairest player, Dani Lewis, and Bianca Rugari and Savannah Clements impressing at training.
More players are needed for a strong showing at Crescent Head. Players are asked to meet at the shelter shed at the eastern end of Strand Street at 6pm.
