Back on February 11 three men, armed with a crowbar and a screwdriver, forced their way into the Beach Street premises.
Two employees, aged 57 and 63, were threatened and tied up using cable ties. The men then raided the poker machines and the office, stealing cash, before fleeing the scene.
Detectives from the Robbery and Serious Crime Squad and Manning-Great Lakes Police District established Strike Force Harlaw to investigate the incident, along with a number of other armed robberies and break-ins across the region.
As their inquiries continue, strike force investigators have released CCTV from inside the club during the incident and are appealing for information from the community.
District Commander, Superintendent Shane Cribb, urged the community to review the footage to see if they recognise the men.
“When it comes to fighting crime, the community is our greatest asset, and with cases like this, where we believe it is likely those involved could be locals, we need public support,” Supt Cribb said.
“I ask that everyone take the time to have a look at the CCTV and see if there’s anything familiar about the men and think back to around that time to see if you may have noticed something or someone suspicious.
“Information from the public already assisted Strike Force Harlaw to success with charges laid over another alleged incident at Easter, and we believe we can achieve the same results this time around,” Supt Cribb said.
Anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Harlaw detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online here. Information is treated in strict confidence.
