Jennifer Lopez is Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. This is a familiar story of the underdog with no self belief who is encouraged by those around her. She aspires to management level at a big box store but is put off by another worker up for the job (Dan Bucatinsky of Scandal fame) telling her she is too old to progress in her career. She gets a leg up by a completely bogus Facebook profile, set up by a friend, and lands a top job on Madison Avenue. She then has to live up to the hype by perpetuating the lie. Maya transforms from a frumpy Bronx housewife to a swan in designer clothes. Meanwhile her best friend (Leah Remini) and her love interest (Milo Ventigmiglia of This Is Us fame) remind her where she comes from.
