NSW Rural Fire Service Mid Coast District sent a crew to assist with the Queensland fires last Sunday, December 2.
It’s the second deployment of firefighters to head over the border within the past week.
With fire trucks from the Central Coast, Lower Hunter and Mid Coast districts, Strike Team North drove to Queensland where they met arriving fire crews who were flying in.
The first group, a team of 17 fire crew, left last Wednesday, November 28 and returned home on Sunday, December 2.
The second deployment, a group 20 firefighters headed north on Sunday, with plans to return back home on Thursday, December 6.
The teams consisted of volunteers from across the Mid Coast region, including the Great Lakes.
