Gracie, known by her stage name Belle Badi, will perform to her biggest audience to date.
“It’s such a good opportunity, I’m over the moon,” Gracie said.
After attending Grow Your Own in 2017, Gracie made a promise to herself to one day perform at the festival.
“I kept sending messages to the organisers so when I found out that I’ll perform I was thrilled,” Gracie said.
Gracie said she is keen to learn how the festival is put together behind the scenes.
Not to mention rubbing shoulders with some of Australia’s hottest acts.
“I love Goons of Doom and Mallrat.
“It's going to be an experience.
“I’ll probably be starstruck backstage,” she laughed.
Gracie stressed the importance of Grow Your Own being a strong supporter of local acts infused with a high calibre of music through the likes of DMA’s, Hockey Dad and The Preatures.
The former Great Lakes College student has music in her blood.
“My dad was very musical and I remember tinkering on an old piano when I was a kid,” Gracie said.
“I’ve always enjoyed playing music.”
Gracie began ramping up her passion for music in 2016.
She released a single on December 7, 2018 just in time for Grow Your Own and is hopeful of recording more songs in 2019.
Describing her music as “female R’n’B with an Aussie twist”, Gracie has collaborated with rappers from Newcastle.
“I love R ‘n’ B so I hope to go down that path,” Gracie said of her future projects.
Gracie has lived in many areas of the Great Lakes and currently calls Bungwahl home.
“I’ve performed twice at parties at the Bungwahl Hall.”
“They go off,” she laughed.
