Great Lakes women will have a chance to take a whack at cricket with a free trial session in Tuncurry on Friday, November 30.
Great Lakes Junior Cricket Club’s Rachel Robinson said if the event is a success it will become a regular fixture in 2019.
“Being social and having fun is what it's all about,” Rachel explained.
“Have a hit and a giggle and enjoy some nibbles and drinks with friends.”
The event is open to anyone whop wants to have a go, with no experience required.
“It will be under arm bowling, non-competitive, and a softer ball will be used,” Rachel continued.
“No gear is required, but there will be some available if you would like to wear it.”
Participants are invited to bring along nibbles and wine, but are asked to avoid bringing glass.
“There will be a barbecue put on for everyone, so bring down the whole family and enjoy a great evening out.”
The event will be held at the Tuncurry Synthetic pitch on South Street, near the tennis courts, and will run from 5:30-7:30pm.
“We will be keeping people up to date on the Facebook page, ‘Great Lakes Junior Cricket Club’, or for more information you can call me on 0404 872 243, or Bernadette Brislane 0400 277 431, or email greatlakesjcc@gmail.com,” Rachel added.
Although the event is free, participants are required to register for insurance purposes.
