Great Lakes schools are holding a number of fun runs to raise heart rates and funds this November.
Tuncurry Public School will hold its fun run event of November 9, whilst Pacific Palms Public School has lined its run up for November 23.
Last year 50670 NSW schools took part in the fundraising activity, raising more than $1,345,609.25 for the State.
Event coordinator, Lani Williams said students have so far enjoyed setting their fundraising goals.
“Students have been involving family and friends in their fundraising efforts to upgrade their library, while they gear up for their fun ruins,” Lani said.
School fun runs connect local schools with the wider community to raise vital funds for schools while promoting student health and financial education.
Now in it’s 31st year of supporting schools, the school fun run has proudly assisted them to raise more than $100 million in that time.
This year over 280,000 students will participate in the fun run, collectively they will run 560,000kms which is the equivalent of running 13 times around the world
School fun runs help children learn about setting and achieving financial goals and establishing healthy habits that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Parents, families, neighbours and local businesses are offering their support and donations to Tuncurry and Pacific Palms students and who will be getting fit and having fun in the name of fundraising for their school.
