The mobile Gym Matrix, has held classes in Dungog and Stroud for about five years, along with school and preschool programs at Dungog, Clarence Town, Stroud, Stroud Road and Booral.
In the last 18 months Gym Matrix has branched out from its recreational gymnastics and started TeamGym – a team based competitive gymnastics program.
Stroud has two teams - Gym Stars and The Allegiance and Dungog also has two teams – Rockstars and Shine.
On October 14, both teams competed at the Hunter Festival, held at Maitland PCYC where both Stroud teams earned an overall bronze at the competition.
The Dungog teams performed exceptionally well with Rockstars earning an overall silver and Shine awarded the only overall gold of the competition.
Gym Stars, The Allegiance, Rockstars and Shine teams have all qualified for State TeamGym competition, to be held in Sydney on November 17 and 18.
The team members who are aged between eight and 15 need help to fund their entry to the comp and for travel – be on the look out for their fundraising efforts across the shire.
