A formal graduation assembly was held at the end of term three to mark the final day of school for Bulahdelah Central School’s year 12 class of 2018.

Proud parents, invited guests, staff and students attended the special ceremony, which was a celebration of achievements, determination and friendships.
During the assembly, the HSC drama class performed their group play and the Matt Smith Award winner, Catharine Nolan-Slattery performed one of her HSC songs, ‘Dear Mr President’.

Major awards were also presented which recognised commitment, excellence and leadership across many areas.
Ashleigh Anderson was recognised for consistent effort and improvement, and Matthew Barry was named VET Student of the Year.
Rachel Billinghurst received the Reuben F Scarf Commitment Award, and Maddison Boyd received the SRC Recognition Award, the BCS Leadership Award, the ADF Long Tan Award, and the UNE Award.
Zac Fletcher received the David Gillespie Leadership Award, and the University of Newcastle Scholarship, and Tia King-Stow was Indigenous Student of the Year.
Jessica Lyall received a UNE Award, VET Student of the Year, and received a BCS Commitment Award, Catharine Nolan-Slattery received the MAD Matt Smith Award, and Luke Rochester was the Caltex All Rounder.
To conclude, special guest, Doctor David Gillespie presented each of the students with their academic certificates and portfolios.
The school wishes the class of 2018 all the best across the exam period and looks forward to seeing them all at the year 12 formal on November 13.
