If there is an unsung champion of the people in your community who deserves recognition, now is the time to put their name up in lights.

Nominations for the Myall Lakes community awards close on October 12.

Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead said hundreds of residents volunteer without expecting praise every year.

“I believe it is important that as a community we acknowledge their efforts, after all their contribution is priceless,” Mr Bromhead said.

“I’m looking for those quiet achievers across the Myall Lakes community who contribute to the towns and villages by giving their time to sports clubs, charities, churches, veterans’ groups, surf clubs and the many volunteer organisations.

“If you know someone who deserves recognition of their service to our community, I encourage you to nominate them today.”

There are seven categories to nominate under including, citizen of the year, young person of the year, senior person of the year, junior sports person of the year, sports person of the year, community group of the year, and cultural award group or individual.

Nomination forms can be accessed by calling Mr Bromhead’s office on 6555 4099, or online at website www.stephenbromhead.com.au/community-awards/.
