In addition to the many types of native orchids which are currently in flower, president, Roy Difford is expecting orchids of many types including Cattleyas, Oncidiums and the popular Cymbidiums to be on display.
Other more unusual types of orchid are also expected to be displayed by members of the Great Lakes Orchid Society and members from surrounding orchid societies.
The show will be open from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, and from 9am to 3pm on Sunday.
Potting demonstrations will be given at 10am, 12pm and 2pm on both days, and members will be on hand throughout the weekend to answer questions.
If you have orchids that are proving difficult to grow or are suffering problems you are unsure about bring them in and our friendly members will try to solve your problem.
Members will be happy to help with advice on how to repot your plants and discuss things such as watering and fertilising.
Entry to the show is by donation and all children attending the show in the company of an adult will receive a free orchid plant.
There will be a variety of orchids for sale by members and all your orchid growing requirements including pots, orchid growing composts, bark and fertilizers will be available.
