Federal Member for Lyne, Dr David Gillespie officially opened the rodeo.
“It’s been another fantastic event for Stroud and I congratulate the association on yet another successful year,” Dr Gillespie said.
The Stroud Rodeo is a premier event included in the top 10 in Australia, attracting more than 800 competitors and 1000 entries.
Events include bull riding, bronco riding, bulldogging and barrel racing.
A full campdrafting program was held in conjunction with the rodeo.
A ‘maximum points’ venue on the national circuit, the Stroud Rodeo included prize money of more than $30,000.
The event enables donations to various charities which have exceeded $450,000 since its inception, with cancer research the main beneficiary.
The event donates every year to HMRI and local charities, including the community lodge.
The non-stop action all over the weekend included stalls, food vans and entertainment by 8 Second Ride on the Saturday night.
