The team has already picked up the premier’s plate after going through the season undefeated.
They finished the regular season with 15 wins, one draw and no losses. A nil-all draw in the opening round of the season away at Port United was the only dropped points for the Forster based outfit.
Their only blemish this year was a loss to Port United in the third round of the FFA Cup.
The side scored 45 goals while conceding just 10.
Ethan Perry netted 15 goals in the regular season and also scored in the qualifying final win against Rangers.
Other sharp shooters for Lake included Reyne Black with 9 goals, Bayden Schumann with 4 and Joshua Walpole and Mitch Yarnold on 3.
Their biggest win was a 5-0 lockout of Wauchope.
The last time the Rangers defeated Wallis Lake was in round 8 last season.
Since then, Lake has enjoyed a run of five wins including three this season.
They’ll be looking to secure a ‘three-peat’ after successful campaigns in 2017 and 2016 ended with grand final wins.
They also took the grand final win in 2014 however they lost the title decider in 2013 against this weekend’s opponents, Rangers.
The 2013 victory for Macleay Valley Rangers via a penalty shootout was the last time they contested the grand final and signalled a changing of the guard after the Kempsey outfit had dominated appearances in the title decider for a number of seasons prior to that.
After limping into the finals on the back of some poor form (one win, one draw and two losses in the final four rounds), Rangers earned their way into the grand final via the long road.
In the qualifying semi final, they had to come from two goals down at half time to defeat Port United 4-2 in extra time at Dangar Street.
By contrast, Wallis Lake only played once in the finals series after having week one off as premiers.
The 3-2 win over Rangers in the qualifying final in week two sent them straight into the grand final.
For Macleay Valley, they’ll need Andrew Potter to fire in front of goals with both their other top goal scorers unavailable.
Sam Applegate and Kurt Riordan will both miss the decider due to suspension.
The first grade encounter will kick off at 3pm at Harry Elliott Oval after the reserve grade grand final between Port United and Wallis Lake.
Earlier in the day, the winner of the FMNC north and FMNC south grand finals in the under 12s and under 13s will contest the zone championship games.
The under 14s, 15s, 16s and 18s zone championships will be on the line at the ground the following day.
Gates open at 9am on both days.
