Congratulations to Blue Evans, Sam Gibson, Eli Worlden and Nathan Monk who have, as a team, captured a bronze medal at the Combined High School (CHS) Tennis Championships.
FTC member and local school teacher, Matt Horne guided the boys through the rounds to see them finish on the podium.
The Forster Public School team included Stevie and Finn McDonagh, Kirra Cremin and Dylan and Maxim Ceccato.
At the Junior Development Series (JDS), Forster’s juniors got some great results in the finals.
Stevie McDonagh returned from a knee dislocation earlier in the year and played through to become runner-up in the under 12 girls division.
Stevie’s brother, Finn finished the season third in the under 10 boys, and Eliza Shotton won the under eight girls title.
Many of the Forster juniors travel regularly to participate in this circuit to get their first taste of competitive play.
Stevie and Finn will now travel to the NSW State finals.
The Forster Seniors Tennis Tournament was a huge success this year, with 279 players participating in perfect weather conditions.
Brenton Chambers continued his good form and played to a quarter final result in the Gosford Platinum Australian Money Tournament (AMT).
Brenton and Sydney’s Blake Bayldon found success in the doubles at the same tournament, coming second.
Laia Pasini charged into the Wollongong Platinum AMT to make the quarter finals and compete against Destanee Aiava, who is currently ranked 10th in Australia and 237th on the world WTA pro tour.
Although Laia came away with a loss she gained valuable experience and had many game points that she will surely use as a base for growth in the future.
Junior group lessons are ongoing and are held Monday and Tuesday from 3:30-4:30pm.
