A family-like bond between players and coaches is the formula to crafting Wallis Lake into the football powerhouse it is today.
The side will look to make history in the grand final against Macleay Valley where they’ll aim to finish the season undefeated and pick up their third successive premiership.
Great Lakes United club secretary Kevin Stevens said the bond players share on and off the field has yielded their success.

“They’ve played together for a number of years while a lot of them have been with the club for seven to eight years,” Kevin said.
“They’re all mates so they play for each other, they play for the club and they just have steely determination to win.”
From the juniors, reserve grade and coaching staff, Kevin said the bond flows right through the Great Lakes United club.
“Coaching director Jeff Summers, first grade coach Brian Tyrell, reserve grade coach Chris Cheers, president Ray Brady and vice president Tony Russ have really contributed to their success,” Kevin said.
Kevin added the depth of skill within the first grade side will get them over the line on Saturday.
“Beau Wynter (club captain) is the glue to the side but the talent stretches right across the park,” Kevin said.

Wallis Lake will appear in their fifth grand final from the last six deciders.
The side tasted victory in 2014, 2016 and 2017. Kevin predicted a large crowd for the encounter.
