Over 10 days, members of the club volunteered their time to collect donations for the appeal at Stocklands, Forster.

“The community was incredibly generous with their assistance in the cause,” publicity officer, Margaret Kentwell said.
“We ended up raising a tidy sum of $20,000.
“There were children with coins and many adults donating large sums of money.
“It was heartwarming to see how people showed concern for the struggling farmers and didn’t hesitate to be forthcoming.”
Margaret added the community was impressed with the knowledge that the Lions Club guaranteed all the donations would go to drought assistance.
“Although the bucket appeal is completed we are more than willing to accept and forward on any further donations on behalf of the community,” she said.
