The campaign was spearheaded by Hayley Bottrell who alongside members of the Old Bar Barbarians abstained from alcohol for a month.
This coincided with many fundraising opportunities such as Lauders Ladies Day and raffles at Old Bar Tavern.
The money will be put towards the purchase of cooling caps for patients.
Cooling caps are used during chemotherapy to try prevent or reduce hair loss.
“Hopefully this money can help purchase more of those or anything else they need,” Hayley said before the event.
The fundraising group, dubbed Hayley’s Dream Team, set an original target of $5000.
Hayley told Manning River Times before the event the unit assisted a close family member who battled cancer.
Dry July is a nationwide event that has raised thousands of dollars for cancer support organisations.
