In the open semi finals, Nathan Butler from Leagues had a resounding 31-9 win over Mark Higgins from Sporties.
Nathan jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never looked in any danger.
The other semi was a much tighter affair between Tuncurry Beach club mates Steve Harris and Ross Logan.
Ross had an early lead but Steve pegged him back to a 7-6 lead and although Steve was never headed from then on, scores were tied on several occasions before Steve ran out a 31-26 winner.
In the final it was Steve who grabbed the early advantage to lead 9-4, and although Nathan got back to trail by just the single shot at 9-8, this was as close as he managed to get.
Steve was much too consistent, winning six consecutive ends to finish off the match and record a 31-11 win.
In the first semi of the seniors event, Dave Crowe from Railway came up against Kevin Robinson from Tuncurry Beach.
Kevin had the early lead before Dave came back and tied the score at 8-8.
The lead then changed several times before Dave found himself with a 15-12 lead.
Kevin then scored the maximum four shots to get the lead.
Dave then scored a 3 and a 1 to hold a 19-16 lead.
Kevin then powered home over the next six ends, scoring 16 shots and winning 31-19.
In the other semi, former Australian representative, Rex Johnston, playing for Tuncurry Beach took on Peter Woolley from Leagues.
Rex grabbed the lead early and was never headed.
Peter fought hard, at one stage winning four consecutive ends, but they were all singles, where Rex was scoring multiples.
Rex ran out a 31-16 winner.
In the final Kevin bounded out of the blocks and led 10-2 and then 14-3. Rex then started chipping away and narrowed the lead to 3 shots at 14-11.
Kevin scored a few, and then Rex got a 4 to lead for the first time 19-18.
Kevin came again and led 22-19.
The next three ends were decisive, where Rex scored a 4, a 2 and a 2 to lead 27-22.
Kevin again responded to trail by the single shot 27-26.
Rex then brought it home for a 31-27 win.
In the first semi of the presidents reserve, Ken Southern from Buladelah led all the way to defeat Dannie Curnow from Tuncurry Beach 31-16.
In the second semi Tuncurry Beach club mates Neville Brymer and Jared Small faced each other.
Jared came out on top with a 31-13 win.
In the final Jared scored first, and although he was never headed, this was a hard fought game.
Even though he trailed by as much as 7 shots, Ken hung in there, and came back to only a single shot deficit at 19-18.
Jared then crept away and came home with a 31-23 win.
The winners will now progress to the State finals at Ettalong in October, and we wish them all the best of luck in their quest for a State title.
