A community garden has long been a part of the Nabiac village futures group’s strategic vision for a vibrant, well-connected rural community.
Louise Collins has been a key driver advocating for the community garden to go ahead.
“We have been planning it for quite some time, it’s been on our community strategic plan since about 2004,” Louise explained.
“To finally be able to have this place where the community can come together to grow edible things will be great.
“We are still in the early stages, but have started clearing some big tree stumps from the space to get it ready, it’s an exciting development.”
The development will further the centre’s community building mission, joining the community op-shop and the community technology centre in a growing community hub.
It will also assist in the development of a possible men’s shed in the future.
