Held at the Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club earlier today, Wednesday, August 8, students from Bungwahl, Forster, Hallidays Point, Nabiac Pacific Palms and Tuncurry public schools along with Great Lakes College, Tuncurry and Forster campuses, the awards celebrated the academic achievements of the highest achieving students from Years 3–12.
The event also showcased the musical talents of the Great Lakes Learning Community Band, under the direction of conductor Narelle Richardson, while Tuncurry campus Year 10 student, Jess Ross closed the official program with the national anthem.
Hundreds of proud parents, grandparents, family and friends crowded into the auditorium to cheer on and support the students who received awards.
Great Lakes College Senior Campus, Tuncurry captains elect, Reilly Palmer and Brooke Mccarthy chaired the assembly, while Educational Leadership Public Schools NSW Great Lakes director, Kerrel Haire gave the occasional address.
