The Leisure Seeker is an affectionate name Ella (Helen Mirren), has given to a clunky old Winnebago that she and her husband John (Donald Sutherland), have enjoyed family road trips in over the years.

John is a retired English teacher who is meticulous but is also suffering dementia.

Ella, his wife of fifty years, is chatty and gregarious, but is also suffering her own illness.

The cost of caring for John is taking its toll. So, the ailing couple decide to take one final, ill-advised journey in their beloved RV.

They set off down the coast to Key West Florida, to allow John to finally visit Ernest Hemingway’s historic home.

Meanwhile their two grown children sit at home waiting and worrying. Taking this emotional journey, John and Ella recapture their passion for life and their love for each other.

Also stars: Christian McKay, Janel Moloney and Dana Ivey.
