If you’re a not-for-profit organisation with a community project in mind, you may be eligible for a donation as the team at MidCoast Council prepare to open a competitive round of funding through the program.
Whether it’s new first aid equipment for your community hall, improved access to a local facility, additional seating, or a new PA system, funding through this year’s program could help get your project off the ground.
Donations of up to $2000 per eligible organisation will this year be made available.
The program will be offered in a single round of funding across the Mid Coast local government area (LGA) with an aim to support not-for-profit, incorporated organisations deliver valuable support and services to the community.
“The donations program is one way we can acknowledge the important role these organisations play in our community, and the tireless work of their members and supporters,” MidCoast Council community strengthening co-ordinator, Lyndie Hepple, said.
“It’s always encouraging to see the vast range of innovative projects these small amounts of money can help fund, and the positive difference they can make.”
A detailed set of criteria will be used to assess each project.
This includes demonstrating support for one or more of the objectives, strategies and actions outlined in MidCoast Council’s recently adopted Community Strategic Plan, and providing a comprehensive project budget that delivers solid value for money.
“We are looking to distribute donations in a fair and equitable way, and to provide support for projects that meet a genuine community need,” Ms Hepple said.
Full details around eligibility and application criteria can be found by visiting www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/1819donations, where an application form can be downloaded.
Applications close at 4pm on Friday, September 7 and successful applicants will be required to complete their nominated project before June 30, 2019.
