Bungwahl Public School staff and students took part in a special dress up day to raise much needed funds for Australian farmers.
School administrate manager, Felice Davis was so moved by what she saw when travelling to Moree in the holidays that she made an impressive artwork of a young calf to raffle to raise funds.
When the student representative council spoke about the raffle they decided they would also like to support the farmers further and hold a hat stall and organise “farming Friday” out of uniform day to raise funds.
The school has also arranged a cake stall to raise funds.
Principal, Dianne Farley has orgainsed video conferences with a school of the air in Longreach Queensland and Wongarbon near Dubbo to speak to students and teachers directly affected by the drought.
The whole school community has shown wonderful support and after one week the school has already raised more than $600 to donate to the cause.
