"Everyone's welcome to drop into one of the MidCoast Libraries during Book Week, and check out the display of winning titles for the Australian Children's Book of the Year awards," library services manager, Chris Jones said.
Free story-time sessions will be held at Taree, Wingham, Hallidays Point, Harrington, Tea Gardens, Stroud and Forster libraries during the week and will feature the shortlisted titles.
"Book Week provides an opportunity to celebrate the joy of books and reading with a focus on Australian authors and illustrators.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy hearing some of the best children's books for 2018 come alive at story-time."
Gloucester library, which is undergoing an upgrade and will be closed during Children's Book Week, will have its own special celebration with a story-time session on Monday, September 3.
