More from Forster Public School:
Each morning, kindergarten students at Forster Public School complete a range of activities in small groups as part of the implementation of the program.
Students receive explicit instruction in reading and writing strategies in small groups in a daily literacy lesson.
All of the students taking part in the activities rotate to independent or group tasks through the morning.
At a recent session, students, Evie Bulpett and Reggie Bamford particularly enjoyed reading in a small group to the class teacher at the jelly bean table, and Ethan O'Brien and Lakyden Bolt were happy to complete a phonic revision of sounds.
Emma Davison and Chloe Ekins especially enjoyed completing a writing activity involving small plastic farm animals as stimulus material, and Havana Williams and Oliver Darr completed writing responses to a story that they read.
