That was the essay question that won Great Lakes College Year 10 student, Hunter Leech a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the historical battlefields of Greece and Israel.
Hunter was one of six NSW students who participated in the centenary commemorations of the Charge of the Fourth Light Horse Brigade at Beersheba through the 2017 Premier's Anzac Ambassadors Program.
Later this year another six students will be selected to tour historic battlefields in Greece, France and Belgium as part of the program.
Announcing the launch, Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead encouraged local students to apply for what he described as the chance of a lifetime to retrace the steps of our Anzacs who gave so much for our country.
As part of the two-week tour the six successful applicants will tour Athens and Lemnos in Greece, Villers-Brettonneux in France, Passchendaele in Belgium and London.
The tour will leave Sydney on October 28 and return home on November 7. Applications close on Tuesday, July 31 July.
