The veteran driver from Forster ventured to Grafton on June 10 in his Toyota 86 to contest round five of the titles.
Ron’s fastest time of 62.04 was enough to take out the category and gain valuable championship points.
He also managed to break his own record.

It was a two horse race at Ringwood Park (near Raymond Terrace) on July 8 as Ron took the win in dominant fashion over Barrie Coady.
Ron topped the time sheets across his four runs to once again come out on top.
He’s still a fair way from taking the lap record here.
“The guy that has the record was in a rocket,” he laughed.
This event produced Ron’s fifth round win of the series.
He is yet to taste defeat in 2018.
Ron will head to Tamworth on August 19 for the penultimate championship round at Tamworth.
“It’s a flat track so I think I’ll go pretty well,” Ron said.
The final round will be on the NSW south coast in September.
