Police investigate theft of cars from Taree and armed robbery at Krambach

Investigations are underway following an armed robbery at a service station at Krambach.

Shortly before 3.30am on Sunday, July 8 several men entered a business on Wingham Road, Taree and allegedly stole keys to five motor vehicles.

One of the keys belonged to a silver Hyundai i40 hatch, which was stolen and driven to a service station on the Bucketts Way, Krambach.

Shortly before 4am the same day four men armed with weapons entered the service station through a side window.

Once inside, the men allegedly assaulted and threatened a male employee.

Police say the men fled the scene in the stolen vehicle with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

Officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District were alerted and began investigations.

Police are appealing for any witnesses in relation to the incident to contact Taree Detectives or Crime Stoppers.
