The Forster-Pacific Palms unit’s current building will be replaced with new headquarters in Tuncurry.

The  $400,000 project is a joint partnership with MidCoast Council.

North to Taree, the Mid North Coast region incident control centre will receive a $130,000 upgrade.

The upgrade will provide  state-of-the-art audio visual and real time display systems for Incident Management Teams to co-ordinate emergency response operations across the region.

This upgrade comes after the installation of a $50,000 uninterruptible power supply system to compliment the facilities independent power supply.

The centre can now ensure major operations across the region can be maintained and controlled even when utilities servicing the area are interrupted.

The Wingham SES unit is recieving a $5000 Ark Angel Flood Rescue raft.

In partnership with the Port Macquarie Hastings Council the Camden Haven unit is receiving a major upgrade to the tune of $200,000.

A new mobile command van, at a cost of $250,000, is being supplied to the region. 

The van is equipped with its own power supply, satellite communications, mobile WiFi connectivity, independent radio repeater and an audio visual display system.

The van will arrive on the June 26 and will be used to manage and co-ordinate SES field operations as a totally self-sufficient forward command post.

“These are significant investments by both State and local governments in the facilities, equipment and people that make up the NSW SES Mid North Coast Region,” Mid North Coast Region controller Tony Day said.

“These investments will go a long way to helping the NSW SES meet its goal and vision in saving lives, protecting communities and becoming the best volunteer emergency service in Australia”.

It is envisaged the bulk of the works will be completed by the end of the financial year along with supply of the equipment.

Official handover ceremonies will be planned and co-ordinated once works are completed and the new equipment arrives.
