Family and friends travelled from Sydney and the Central Coast for diamond wedding anniversary celebrations of Tuncurry couple, Barry and Elaine Savage.

Joining the celebrations were the couple’s two children, Kerrie and David, grandchildren and the newest addition to the family, great grand-daughter, five-month-old Ella Rose Cross.
Politicians, the governor general and Queen Elizabeth II sent messages of congratulations to the couple who married at St Joseph’s Catholic Church Rozelle on Anzac Day in 1958.
Grand-daughters Jody Savage and Sarah Cross spoke on behalf of all the grandchildren .
They were presented with a canvas wedding photo to mark the occasion.
Following their marriage the couple lived in Leichhardt before moving to Concord West.
They retired to Tuncurry 25 years ago enjoying a busy and active life with interests in Probus and bowls, along with regular visits from their growing family.
