Barry peppered the jack early only to see Mick consistently destroy the end then respond with accurate draw shots of his own, treating the spectators to some grate bowls. In the other semifinal, Doug Kessell played a former club champion Geoff Robinson and after 36 hard fought ends Doug finally won 31-25. The final will be played next Sunday at 1pm. Junior bowls academy Our proactive coaches ran a very successful Bring a Friend day on Sunday. Emma and Hannah Morse assisted the coaches with top young bowlers Tom and Eva Williams. The highlight of our week was the Australia Wide Novice Pairs (AWNP). Our club runs the event in association with the above organisation for all members who hold less than 50 masterpoints at March 31 Our club result below reflects all players for the day but it is then reworked by AWNP using a handicap system based on the masterpoints ranking of each pair. It is very exciting to see that within our club, after adjusted scores, someone who attended our learn to play bridge class to refresh their skills has taken first place, along with their partner. I will with hold the names until it has been announced at the club. GNOT day three was played on Wednesday. The top teams are keeping their pace within site of the finishing line. It is lovely to see the competitive, but friendly rivalry during the afternoon’s play.
