Matt (Rowdy) Manning is one regular participant excited at the opportunity to knock reigning champion, Simon Black off the winner’s podium.
“It has long been acknowledged around the Great Lakes and Manning Valley that Simon Black is a rare talent in many of the sporting endeavors he has undertaken,” Rowdy explained.
“From a young age, many a sports judge identified his potential, but Simon, not wanting to cash in on his ability and go pro, decided instead to fish and sell beer.
“It is Simon’s form over the last 18 months which has his competitors scratching their heads at how he is achieving the results he has.
“Those within his inner circle accept that he has no real ability, and are astounded that he has held aloft the ‘rowdy championship’ trophy three times since its inaugural euchre tournament in 2016.”
Simon has also gone on to dominate the golf and tennis editions of the event, held in 2017.
“May 19 will present the opportunity for Simon to defend his titles and be challenged on his home tables of the Bellevue Hotel for the rowdy pool championships,” Rowdy added.
“It will be a very dark day for local athletes should he gain victory again.”
