More than 55 primary and middle school students from throughout the Great Lakes, Barrington and Taree took part in the competition, designed to offer encourage and inspire aspiring young writers a unique and exciting opportunity to have their story published and at the same time win a cash prize.
Every child needs encouragement and help at various stages of their education and a writing competition can provide such an opportunity, co-organiser Teressa Siminska said.
The competition was judged by a panel of school teachers, the Forster Writers’ Group and GLA journalist and published children’s author, Sally Codyre.
“On behalf of all of the judges, I want to express just how impressed and overwhelmed we were with the quality of work produced by the young writers,” Sally said.
“It has been such an honour to get a glimpse into the imaginations of the next generation of creative minds, you have all blown us away. Please keep writing, we are loving reading what you put out.”
Tell Me a Story will return at the beginning of 2019.
