After being rained out once, Bulahdelah Central School held the annual cross country event on Wednesday, March 28.
The course was one to be remembered, with some very muddy sections from all the rain that fell in the lead up to the day.
This made the track a very interesting one for all participants.
“A big thank you to all staff and students involved who helped run the day and particularly those who help to set up and pack up,” cross country coordinator, Tyson Oakley said.
“Melba wiped out all other competition with their points but it was very close between the other three houses, with only 100 points between them.
“The turnout was amazing and all students participated well.
“Congratulations to the 2018 cross country age champions who will now compete at zone level.”
Breanna Loveday and Logan Bailey were the champions in the eight year old bracket, and Salome Reitsma and Mark Whalen took top spot in the nines.
Sheena Lamborn and Peter Poniris claimed first place in the 10 year old group, and Ruby Plummer and Nathaniel Reitsma were the champions of the 11s.
Sasha Middleton and Cole Buchanan were the winners in the 12s primary event, and the 12s secondary top spots were claimed by Sophie Morcombe Isaac Mitchell.
