The interactive science show, SMARTBots is linked into the digital technology curriculum in schools and is delivered by the SMART team from the University of Newcastle and sponsored by the Mid Coast science and engineering challenge committee.
Chairman of the Mid Coast science and engineering challenge committee, John Walton said SMART stands for science, maths and real technology.
“It aims to inspire, inform and involve children and the community in science and technology," he said.
"We are an arm of the science and engineering challenge, a not-for-profit program run through the University of Newcastle.
“The SMART program performs interactive in-school shows which have strong links to the curriculum and are tailored to suit each age group.
“SMARTbots explores coding and robotics in a fun and interactive show."
Included in the show is an explanation of the core concepts of coding and programming as well as information about the different ways robots are programmed and perform tasks.
The show supported the work that Forster Public School children have been involved with in technology using Ozobots to practise coding and programming with technology teacher, Mr Ireland.
