A handful of up and coming juniors from the Forster Tennis Club are taking the tennis world by storm after making the Hunter Region PWSA Team.

Five boys and five girls qualified from the Hunter Region with a selection of four from the Forster Tennis Club doing the Great Lakes proud and making the team.
The bright young sport stars include Forster Public School’s Kira Cremin, Stevie and Finn McDonagh, and Tanner Purden from Mitchell’s Island.
The team is headed towards the NSW State Carnival, where they hope to one-up their runners-up result from 2017 and take out the top spot.
At just fifteen years old, Laia Pasini’s hard work and training has paid off, after after she recently competed in her first International Tennis Federation Futures tournament, battling her way through qualifying rounds only to bow out just before the main draw entry.
Success has been sweet for Laia, winning a bronze medal in singles and a gold in girls doubles at the NSW Combined High School’s Championships, held recently.
The 2018 NSW Junior Development Series (JDS) is underway, with 16 juniors from the Forster Tennis Club participating.
The first three tournaments have been played, with stops at Port Macquarie, Sawtell and Taree.
Finn McDonagh has had great success in his under 10 age group, and earlier this year competed in the Super 10’s competition, held every Saturday for five weeks at Sydney Olympic Park.
Coming up a little closer to home, the ANZ Ditchfield Open Junior Tournament will be held at the Forster Tennis Club from April 27-29.
