The heat of summer has started to fade, but there are still snakes out and about, and knowing how to deal with an unexpected encounter could make a big difference to you and your family.
The Reptile Dysfunction’s Brenton Asquith is holding a seminar to educate the community about snakes and snake bite first aid in Forster on Saturday, February 24.
The seminar is free and is designed to educate people about snakes, safety and ways to live with snakes around.
“I will also discuss different snakes found in the area,” Brenton said.
“Snake bite bandages are available to buy on the day at a cost of $25 each.
“The bandages have a pressure indicator built in to help the person know how tight to make the bandage.
“If anyone is wanting to order bandages please contact me on Facebook at Taree and surrounding snake catcher, or call 0434490133 to help us get an idea of numbers so hopefully nobody misses out on the day.”
The seminar will start at 12 noon at the Forster Community Garden.
